Fate of Rtoo

I have been asked several times if will stay alive or not. I don’t have any plan to bring it down. On the contrary, I will continue to update the blog but I am quite busy in learning new technologies some of which I haven’t really worked with before. Another news is that, soon I will be in Santa Clara for around 2 weeks for which I am pretty excited actually as this will be my first US visit.
I am hoping that in a month or so I can start blogging once again!

All good things must come to an end!

As they say: “All good things must come to an end”, I have left Juniper Networks after I worked for 5 years as Technical Support Engineer. I still can’t believe that those 5 years passed so quickly. I have learned bunch of new technologies and it was a wonderful experience to work there. I will truly miss my colleagues at Amsterdam office and friendly atmosphere there too. It is also sad to say that I will no longer be working with SRX firewalls which also means I won’t write about SRX anymore. I still have some topics in my mind to write about but don’t know if I can get round to it. That was it! Now it is time to learn more new stuff.

Best wishes to all!

2014 statistics has been viewed 160.000 times in 2014 according to the JetPack statistics. I have also made site statistics public at I must say that I really liked this yearly report which also shows me an overview about what I have done in the past years. However, I am far behind my target and still can’t follow the new trends and features. I keep procrastinating unfortunately due to scheduling priorities. Jetpack says I have had 29 posts in 2014 which isn’t very bad I think. Can I double page views in 2015? we will see:) I wish everyone a very happy new year and thanks to all who have commented/contributed to this page in 2014.

May the force be with you!

Off the hook

It has been more than a month that I couldn’t write a single post. Previously I was able to find time to do some experiments when I come home. However after the recent silly attack to my poor server, it took me really time to bring it back on its feet. I have still a list of security measures to do/improve on the server and firewall configuration etc but hectic life is sometimes preventing you from being prolific. In the mean time, temporarily I have put server behind a Firefly Perimeter firewall and activated IDP service. It has been running around a week now and it has already blocked 15 BASH code injection attempts. I don’t really mind giving the list of my attack statistics actually. Here is the list;

I am not blocking all of them of course. Otherwise site wouldn’t even run properly. Real attacks are blocked though. Title of the post is off the hook but I am not there yet. I have a bunch of things that I would like to write about. As soon as possible, I would like to write again. Maybe in a couple of days. Time will tell me.
